August is our Heart for the House month at both Max Life Church Naracoorte and Kingston this year.
Heart for the House is an opportunity for us to pray and sow into the future vision and mission of our church, through a special sacrificial yearly offering.
The theme for 2026 at Max Life is GO, a reminder that our mission from Jesus as a church and as individuals is to go into all the world and make disciples. It has been exciting to be reminded that our lives matter and that God has a unique purpose for each of us to outwork in our families, workplaces and daily lives. All of us are called to show others the difference Jesus makes in our lives.
We encourage you to prayerfully consider if you are able to make a faith step and contribute to our Heart for the House offerings for 2026.
Sunday August 30th will be our 'Heart for the House' Celebration Day. On this day there will be a time to bring our offerings and pray into the future of our church. You can also give at anytime over the next few weeks.
Every second year at Max Life Church Naracoorte (incl 2026), this Heart for the House offering goes towards paying off a significant portion of our bank loan for our church buildings. Having church buildings helps us to help and reach people, by providing a place we can gather, where people can come when they need help or are seeking faith and where we can all worship God and be equipped to Go.
Background
We originally took out our bank loan to make the big faith step to purchase our church buildings; the old Shapes Nightclub building in Jan 2016 (now our auditorium) and the adjoining foyer/kids rooms building in Nov 2021, as well as complete major renovations. We praise God for the amazing blessing these buidings are now to us. This picture shows a graphic representation of the proportion of this loan we have already paid off.
Current Project
Currently we still owe $337,759 on our loan. If we calculate a debt owed to space ratio, we owe $1462.00 for every square meter. In this year’s Heart for the House we will literary be buying square meters of land for our church, as we repay more of this loan.
We have had similar Heart for the House offerings in the past and many individuals and families gave sacrificially, envisioning they were buying square meters to serve people they didn’t yet know, who would come to our church in the future. Today many of you are the people they envisaged who would come and who would meet Jesus for the first time or grow in their faith at Max Life Church because they paid that price for you.
We now have a new opportunity to give so that others will get the same blessing we have had. What a significant eternal opportunity to invest into!
We believe in the church of the future. Right now there is whole generation of young people in our community who haven't had the opportunity to hear the message of Jesus or experience church in a way that they can understand and relate to. Recently we have launched Max Life Kids and through the generous giving through Heart for the House last year have been able to set up some key resources to help run great children's programs every few weeks.
This is a very significant new ministry in our church and our next step is to run this program weekly. Currently the room is hot in summer and cold in winter so we would like to install an airconditioner before summer as a next step. It is a practical need but it is also a step of faith believing that this ministry is going to grow and is going to be ongoing and help many children to grow in their faith journey.
What is Heart for the House?
It has always been our heart at Max Life Church to prepare a home for people to encounter Jesus.
Heart for the House is a special time, once a year, when we as a church family have the opportunity to pray and sow into the future vision and mission of our church. Over recent years we have been able to pay $18,000 extra off the Naracoorte building debt, provide a large television and activity resources to start Max Life Kids' Kingston, totally upgrade the Naracoorte coffee area space, run a kid’s outreach event and provide discipleship resources for families. We have seen more people come to know Jesus and our church grow in numbers and none of this would be possible if it wasn’t for your generosity.
