At a Child Dedication, parents publicly affirm their desire to raise their children as Christian parents and celebrate that decision with their church family, their family and friends. The pastor and church will pray for both the child and the family asking for God's blessing, wisdom and protection.
As parents, being part of a loving church family can help you raise your children to know and follow Jesus. It is in your church family that your children will receive love, make friends, grow and even find their purpose.
At Max Life, rather than baptise babies, we dedicate babies to God. More information about baptism can be found here. A child can be dedicated at any age, although usually children are dedicated as babies. Sometimes parents choose to dedicate all their children at the one service.
Parents are encouraged to invite extended family and friends to the Dedication Service, as it is a special time of celebration. There will often be several different families from our church having their children dedicated at these times. After the service there will morning tea to share with friends and visitors.
